CIEC, formerly known as a private college in Burnaby, BC from 1993 to 2003, has been strategically focusing on initiating and coordinating educational cooperation across Asia and North America. We are the only educational center that has a long-term cooperation with Chinese Central and Local Ministry of Education.
Even before the establishment of CIEC, the founders of CIEC had already been actively involved in the practices of educational consultation and cultural exchange between Asia and North America. Led by Jean Chretien, the former Canadian Prime Minister, CIEC had visited China twice in 2001 and 2005 as "Team Canada," which was a national visiting team of governors and over 500 entrepreneurs. In the presence of Jean Chretien, the former Canadian Prime Minister, CIEC signed three educational contracts to initiate educational cooperation between China and Canada.
Since 1999, we have hosted more than 400 professors, teachers and principals from China to attend training programs provided by Vancouver School District, University of British Columbia, and Richmond School District.
In 2002, CIEC organized Ministry of Human Resources of China (labor ministry) meeting with Human Resources and Skills Development Canada (HRSDC) to discuss the advanced skill training programs for Government of China.
In 2003, CIEC assisted the Heilongjiang government to host a group of environmental experts to meet with Canadian environmental researchers.
Thereafter, CIEC has been growing stronger and steadier, proudly providing services in promoting educational cooperation and bridging cultural differences between Asia and North America.
